|A Brief Biography
I was named after Mozart, Wolfgang, and J.S. Bach, Sebastian. I guess it's not surprising then that I started building guitars at 12 years of age, now 46 years ago.
t the tender age of 6, having just gotten off the ship from Germany, I was taken under wing by an elderly gentleman who passed onto his young keen apprentice essential generic skills; among them cabinet-making, machining, use and making of tools, and the methodology of how to conceive, execute and finish any project. This put me decades ahead of myself, guitars led in my mid-teens to lutes, viola da gambas and small historical keyboard instruments.
I studied architecture, and then completed a music degree by which time I was fully engaged in building harpsichords. I spent the better part of two decades attaining world status in this field, and then branched out into other activities; fabricating machine-tools, racing car development, teaching high-school while still building the occasional harpsichord.
At the turn of the millenium I started building guitars again with the intention of combining acoustic and electric aspects into one instrument.
