ACDO stands for Association Canadienne des Don d'Organes (Canadian Organ Donor Association). People partaking in the games were invited to this ceremony, paying tribute to families who have lost a loved one, yet passed on their organs to be transplanted.
Each family member, or representative of the family, had the honour of "Ambassadeur (drice) de la Santé" (Ammbassador of Health) bestowed upon the family member who's organs were donated. Mme Lise Thibault, Lieutenant-Governor of Quebec, presented the medals.
This was a beautiful ceremony, held in St. Michel's Cathedral, and made people realize just how much one person can help so many.
