Where I Lie

As I try to run through life I stumble and fall
yet always get back up and try for it all.
Every time I try again I listen for your call
until one day it did not come so I tried to crawl.
You were my guiding light, my reason to rise
yet that fateful day I never got to see those wonderful eyes.
So here I lie watching the days pass me by
for now I have no reason to even try.
You are gone and I must go on yet my heart will not pump.
It lies in pieces as all my joy ceases
for it will never again go thump.
